I designed the island in our kitchen to resemble an antique. We typically eat dinner here at our kitchen table but weekday breakfasts, you can find us perched here on these stools.
Our paper towel drawer is the most popular feature in our kitchen! The paper towel holder is actually a drawer pull. You can pull out the drawer and behind the paper towels are a place for extra rolls and garbage bags. There are a lot of handy, organizational features in the kitchen which I will blog about soon.
We renovated this kitchen in the summer of 2018. The biggest change was the “bump out” where the sink is located. We pushed out this exterior wall which added more cabinetry and countertop area. Hardwood floors keep the white and grey kitchen warmer.
Our cabinets are painted with Benjamin Moore White Dove. Our countertops are White Pearl quartz. The countertops seem impervious to stains! I added this open-shelving knowing that it if I changed my mind about this feature, I could replace them with a traditional cabinet. For now, I love them. I like to style them for different seasons, too.
